Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use the scale?
The Stability Pro scale is intended to measure balance in adults age 18 and up who can stand for 60 seconds without assistance. (The balance measurement algorithm is not optimized for children, whose bodies are still growing.) The Stability Pro scale is intended to be used to gather objective information about an individual’s balance, or postural stability. This information should not be used by itself to diagnose any medical condition or disease. Consult a doctor about balance and any fears about falling.
What is the weight limit?
350 lbs
What is the difference between the Stability Home scale and the Stability Pro scale?
The Stability Home scale is designed for home use by individuals, and the Stability Pro scale is designed for professional use. The Stability Home scale lights up red, yellow, or green to show the risk level associated with your balance score. This may not be desirable in public settings, where users are likely to want their score displayed more discreetly, so the Stability Pro scale does not light up with a color. The Stability Pro scale is designed for heavier use (many people testing every day) and includes a power cord.
Is the Stability Pro scale portable?
The Stability Pro can be powered with 6 AA batteries in cases where portability is desired. If you will be taking the Stability Pro around to different places, we recommend getting the carrying bag for ZIBRIO® Scales.
How big is the display? Are the numbers easy to read?
ZIBRIO Stability scales are uniquely designed with older users in mind. The display numbers are over 2 inches tall, making them easy to read from a standing height without having to bend down to get a closer look.
Does the scale move?
No, the scale does not move. However, when you stand still for 60 seconds for the balance test, you may feel your body moving!
How do you turn it on?
The scale will turn on automatically when you plug it in. If the scale is already plugged in and has gone to sleep, tap on the corner of the scale to wake it up. If the scale is running on batteries, tap on the corner of the scale to wake it up. The scale may also wake up when you step onto the scale.
How do you tare the scale (recalibrate the weight)?
Press firmly but quickly on the center of the scale with your foot. You will see three dashes (- - -) on the display and hear a beep. After the dashes disappear and the scale again reads 0.0, you may step back onto the scale. Do not step onto the scale while the three dashes are showing, as this will cause an inaccurate tare.
