You might be experiencing short-term fatigue
Nice job on doing exercise! Moving is a crucial part in using and maintaining your balance system. After exercise, your body needs some time to rest, even if you don’t feel tired or worn out. Short term fatigue can lower your balance score for a few hours. Give your body time to recover, then check your balance again. Knowing the exact score impact that exercise has on your balance gives you the power to stand up for yourself. You can implement a routine cool-down break and be more aware during those post-exercise hours in order to prevent a trip or fall.
Tip: Make sure your exercise doesn’t consist of movement in just 1 plane of motion. For example, when running, your body is only moving in 1 direction, forward. Incorporate other exercises into your weekly routine, such as Tai Chi or Pickleball, as these require movement in multiple planes. You can also do balance specific exercises by following the ZIBRIO Better Balance Training videos found within the BalanceCoach app.
