FAQs
Q: What if a patient can’t stand unsupported for 60 seconds?
A: If a patient cannot stand unsupported for the full duration of the test, You should mark it as a failed test. It would be helpful to also describe this in the patient notes field. For example “operator had to support patient half way through test. This puts the patient at high risk for falling.”
Q: What if the individual has a walker or assistive device?
A: Many brands of walkers are able to be used to help the individual up onto the scale. From there they should steady themselves and then follow the test protocol. If an individual cannot stand unsupported for the whole test, it should be marked as a failed test.
Q: What if I forgot to save the report?
A: If you remember the Stability score, recreate the report using the BalanceReport software. If you don’t remember the Stability score, please administer the balance test again and make a new report. BalanceReport does not store data.
